Schokinag (pronounced "show-ca-nog") remains one of only a small handful of privately held, family-owned chocolate companies. Since 1923 we have been dedicated to producing the highest quality chocolate, especially for artisan chocolatiers.
We owe our steady growth largely to the "word-of-mouth" support of skilled bakers, pastry chefs, and chocolatiers who have discovered the extraordinary flavor, consistency, and ease of use of our chocolate. We are the second largest supplier of pure chocolate to the trade in Europe, the United States, and Canada, and our products are now available in 60 markets around the world.
Known as "the artisan chocolate" Schokinag of Germany has been producing chocolates, Kuvertueren, cocoa powder and cocoa butter for more than 75 years. They work exclusively with imported raw cocoa beans, mainly from West Africa, which are carefully roasted, processed and mixed in house. Christopher Norman Chocolates received so many inquiries as to the type of chocolate they used to make their famous chocolates that John Down, Chief Chocolate Officer, has created some special blends of Schokinag chocolate. These blends were made to satisfy the needs of the at-home gourmet and the professional chef.
Originally only available commercially, Schokinag now offers its fine couvertures and chocolates to the at-home gourmet and professional chefs.
Schokinag's European Drinking Chocolate line was created in the style of traditional European chocolate drinks of the 17th century. Made with tiny bits of real chocolate and prepared with milk rather than water, your customers will wonder why they ever drank instant hot chocolate.
These tiny dark and milk chocolate morsels create hot chocolate that no cocoa powder can match. Just scoop some into a mug with a bit of hot milk, stir into a chocolaty syrup, then add the rest of the hot milk and stir again. Rich and velvety, but not too sweet, this is how hot chocolate was meant to be. In fact, hot chocolate and drinking chocolate like this date back to ancient cultures in Mexico and South America where only royalty were allowed to enjoy it.
Give it as a gift to pamper your loved ones. Or treat yourself like royalty with a steaming cup on a Sunday morning or to relax on a cool night.
Directions: Place 5 tablespoons Schokinag Drinking Chocolate in a mug with 1 tablespoon milk. Microwave about 1 minute and stir to melt chocolate completely. Add 7 oz. milk, stir and then microwave to desired temperature.
Ingredients: Cocoa Liquor, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Soya Lecithin as an Emulsifier, Cocoa Powder and Pure Vanilla. GMO Free.
